Alaska's Winter's MagicFrom the first snows in September, to the break-up period in May, winter in Alaska offers many photographic opportunities. The Anchorage area receives roughly six hours of golden sunlight at the winter solstice, bathing the landscape with marvelous colors and textures.
There's nothing quite like waking up to a fresh snowfall, grabbing a coffee from Kaladi and heading out to the trails to photograph the natural wonders of winter in Alaska. Here are a few of my memorable winter photographs:
